I do this all the time. I have used a hot pink lipliner paired with a neutral/nude lipstick color and that turns out near perfect everytime. You can also do this with a red liner, or a brown one. Also when lining your lips don't line the bottom one all the way across...just apply the liner the the outer corners of your bottom lip.
interesting...will experiment.
